Atmospheric Dispersion with Risk and Probability Estimates in Extreme Weather Conditions

AUTHOR

ERNO SAJO

This paper compares the predicted hazard zones as function of wind speed following two different accidental release scenarios. One of the models uses a heavy gas dispersion algorithm, wile the other employs a Gaussian model. At high wind speeds, both models give extrapolated predictions. Limitations and errors will be pointed out. Further, a quantifiable measure of risk is given and compared to the probability of observing a specific concentration at a given spatial location.
